Soo, TQL advertises a load at a decent rate $3+ / mile. We bite. They say deadhead from where we are is around 80 miles. We know better, and it turns out to be 117 miles. Already knew that they play that game, so no big deal and had factored it in.
Appointment is for 11, told TQL it would be 11:30 before we'd arrive - said it was no problem.
Arrive at shipper at 11:30. They ask who we brokered through and we said TQL. They were P I Z Z E D. Said they were booked for appointments all day and were NOT expecting TQL to send anyone. They will TRY to work us in. Call to TQL has the broker basically saying 'keep track of your time there and we'll see what we can do.'
Not particularly antsy yet, since it's only 1.5 hours we've been waiting. In 30 minutes if we don't have a door, we'll be making a phone call.
More TQL games

Hope your delivery isn't at a big grocery warehouse like WM or Sysco. If the other end of your journey gets jammed up, it could mean substantial delay due to rescheduling your arrival.
BTW this sort of thing is SOP for meat plants. Make sure you pack food and water when you go to your "appointment." LOL -
The load I'm under now is spools of aluminum bar. No delivery appointment, just show up. -
A few weeks ago TQL did this crap to an O/O at a peach farm I was at. Told him it was good to go. Needless to say the load loaded the next day. The O/O was 50 miles from a truckstop. I felt bad for the guy. Screw TQL

IMO...If you or your driver shows up for a load and are/is detained or not loaded until the next day, though no fault of their own.....You/They deserve deserve a full day's pay out of the deal....
You or your driver upheld your end of the contract.....The broker then must honor their end....
A contract is a contract...... -
