I was beside one on the highway. Sounds like a smooth running truck. Nice looking truck. They have a wide variety of colors.

what does that 7.4 mpg tractor cost you per week lease payment and insurance times 52 weeks just curious. The number will most likely shock me. Just a question no t being mean or negitive here.I do assume it is a lease purchase tractor and not a straight out purchase.

That's the number I got as well from a TA driver in a new T700. They also have the company drivers in a few now as well he told me, but $900 a week is too rich for my blood. I'll stick to my old truck and it's measly 6.5mpg with $0 a week

If that is correct that is 46800 dollars a year in payments. With the miles I run at 6mpg I would burn 9700 dollars more in fuel than he does at 7.4 but I would save 37 thousand dollars for me plus the difference in insurance. I think I will keep things the way they are, you guys can go ahead and make fun of me if you want but in 5 years I would save 185000 dollars, and I only run about 80000 miles a year, where he probally runs 150000. WOW.

Personally, I like the look of the Mack and I love their dash layout and ergonomics, BUT they seem to really lack any storage in their midroofs. JMHO

But they are the best lease in the business(that is what the ad said)
Drivers leasing equipment from TransAm Leasing have the opportunity to become independent contractors with TransAm's Trucking. TransAm offers an exceptional owner/operator program that includes:
- Starting at 84 cents per mile loaded and empty with annual rate increases based on safety
Does any one stay long enough for a annual increase?
