Maybe, maybe not. Depends on many variables. Engine, trans., tires, wheel base, etc., all can add or detract from value.

Agreed....try this, my guy is buying 6's from Freightliner off the JB Hunt fleet. Detroit and 10, 575 to 625 with new caps and worthless warranty for 28 to 32K.

They all have the same problem too. Big oil leak at the rear of motor that is suspected to be rear main but it's not. You gotta remove tranny and engine bell ( not bell housing, other side) to access a cover over the cam. that's the leak on ours.

Others have lost turbos and batts and starters before pulling the first load. One is still laid up while they fight over a steering box. One lost the motor and they agreed it was wore out but then held it hostage until we paid half the bill....and they keep running up there, check book in hand buying more.

And they say drivers are stupid........

so where does one find good deals.

yall keep talking about cheap trucks. but i have yet to find anything cheaper then mine. and mine was too expensive.

i've looked at truckpaper and locally and online private buyers with our local websight. all are older trucks, same miles. and higher priced.

i've also looked at various dealers on the west side of the country.

mine may be on the high side of price. but it's still way cheaper then what i've seen so far.

    fl's for 35, kw's and petes for 50. 2-4 years older then my 05 w9. 1 mill miles.

the only place i've seen so far with decent pricing is paccar. they want 45 for 08 petes and kws with 4-500k miles.

I am looking at a 07 Century, 707K miles, APU, DD60, 13, 3.42's Condo with side windows. Seriously EVERYTHING I could ask for. Found it on Truckpaper. There are several of these actually available. It is from a company that went under due to bankruptcy.

The one dealer had them listed at $35K. Mine was listed as "Call". There was actually a yellow and a grey at this dealer. When I asked for the DDEC and Dyno reports, they had no issues doing either for me. 309 idling hours on this truck. Putting 419 hp to the wheels at 1500 RPM at 55 mph.

I bet you I have looked at over a dozen or more trucks before this one.

The biggest reason I looked at this one? My name was listed as the person of contact on it. SO I can honestly say my name was written all over this truck.

I would worry about what maintenance has been done. If the company was going under than they might have stopped maintaining their trucks long before going bankrupt.
