    Good times

They must be here. I've pulled van load from AR to Il. 500 miles door to door. Paid 1300.

See a lot of rates like that and higher in the Northeast here lately. Hope it lasts.

Rates won't stay good for long with that outlook.

There is no such thing as a 'backhaul', only good paying freight.

'backhaul' is an excuse to haul cheap.

    "Backhaul"?

Interesting mentaility there. Run OUT from home base, then look to RUN BACK.

Nice if you can get a CONTRACT to do that (that pays well, BOTH WAYS) - but you RUN where the "freight takes you" (I am a leaf in the wind), and when it's time to come home - you look for stuff that will get you BACK THERE (even if it's indirect/smaller WELL PAYING HOPS).

I do a three-load loop every week hauling reefer. Although I'm going to tighten it up and readjust from my load out to being closer to the house so I can take the full weekend off at home.

amen snowblind, If more trucks would stop hauling cheap freight and let it sit rates would come up to where they need to be.
