    Wow
your under dispatch run it and log it just as if you were pulling a wagon behind you.
You are in a CMV you HAD better stop at all scales unless you get a green on your prepass if you have one.
10 years behind the wheel and you really have to ask. Unreal

Just out of curiosity what makes you think it won't need to be logged or you won't have to stop at scales. Just cuz it's a favor for a friend. LOL. You think Az NM or Texas DOT give a ratscrack it's a favor for a friend.
Like I said you will be in a commercial vehicle and YOU must abide by the same laws.

Doesn't matter if you're bobtail or not, it's what the truck is plated for. Plated for 80,000#, you'd better stop. As far as the log, I'd probably throw one together just incase. I used to use my truck as my personal vehicle sometimes, as long as I wasn't loaded or under dispatch, but my name was on the registration. They may not believe the " I'm doing a favor" part.

Are you insured under his company? Pre-employment drug tested? I dont think you can just hop in anybodies truck and drive it. Not sure, but sounds like youre putting yourself in a bad place.

You have to log every mile even bobtailing due to the authority the truck is running under along with all IFTA rules apply too.

A little free extra advice: If you want to ruin a good friendship, do business with a friend!
