I have hauled hay, but don't do it exclusively. If you have questions, fire away. I will try to answer them. I would expect there are others who might also be able to chime in to answer any questions.

You will need to add those states to your cab card and set up an IFTA account unless you already have that in place. There are often exemptions on certain rules for agriculture. You can check with OOIDA and ask to speak with someone in their permits department. www.ooida.com. If you plan on hauling oversized bales where you will be wider than 102" then you may need oversized permits. Those are the only things that I can think of off the top of my head. Either earlier this year or last year some oversized hay loads were given exemptions for loads going to Texas. It was only for a short time.

Granted your not hauling to California, but you might want to check with some one in the state to see if there are any import restrictions. California restricts incoming fruit.

Well I was hoping that since this venture wasn't for capitol gain that there might be less fee's as far transport...I know cali has restrictions on hay as far as it must be certified and I'm checking on the states between ND &a TX..I'm just heart broken over so many dealing with drought and being able to feed their livestock..and excuse the many mispelllings as I'm doing this on my droid...ND isn't internet friendly or cel service friendly for that matter

Just because it's not for profit(capitol gain) does not mean any states are not going to get their permit fee's. And on a side note (nothing personal) a cell phone and the lack of cell service has nothing to do with spelling.
