what do you use for truck wax?

Looking for something a heck of a lot cheaper than going to Blue Steakin for a truck wash.

Would like to get a nice wax base on the truck before winter. May just have to bite the bullet one weekend and hand wax the whole tractor.

Thinking Turtle Wax liquid or something like this.

I have a buddy who details car, trucks, rigs, farm tractors, whatever ya got. He charges me $400 for a detail, but that also includes a full interior clean and carpet scub/clean, running a buffer over the truck, polishing up the stainless and alumnium and putting on a hand wax job.

I think it was Turtle Wax, but I got it at Walmart. Comes in a jug like windshield washer fluid, but is a soap and wax all in one. It worked real good and the wax lasted longer than the crap you get from the beacon.

If it wasn't Turtle Wax then it had to be an Eagle One product. My memory any more sucks.

Saw that and wasn't sure about it. May have to try it.

I just know that the Century Condo is NOT something I want to crawl on top of to try and wax.

I have never even given it a thought to try and wax a truck by hand, especially a condo. Your arms would probably fall off. I don't wash my truck myself anymore either, just wait in line and pay someone else to do it.

I went to blue Streakin' this week and it was $91 to have them wash it, use brightener on it (that REALLY cleaned up the trailer I must admit) and to put rainX on it.

But the water still doesn't bead up like I think it should.

If you get thru Sioux City much the Greenlight has a product called gold bond that is supposed to last, I think they might even guarantee it to last xx# of days. I haven't tried it myself, but have friends who swear by it.

I use Best of Show wax from Griot's Garage. AND a random orbital!! LOL I do a full wax job twice a year......plus a little fill in polishing here and there. Griot's stuff is good; and lasts. I use WAB for my wash soap.
