The money is out there, you just gotta go find it... I ran nc/ sc for 6 months... Money was crap, went Otr, tripled my income

 

wow ! My bread and butter route has been getting stuff out of IL,IN and surrounding going to MD,VA&NC, sometimes I have to find little squeaker loads down to SC where there is plenty of loads coming back to IL,IN. Of course, that's with stepdeck. But if it's the right time for you to hang it up, then hang it up.

 

Depending on what you have for equipment, now is a good time to sell. Used platform trailers are bringing crazy money.

 

its hard right now with fuel prices so high.

 

I'm also feeling the pain. I'm a small owner operator and think will be going out of business soon. Price of diesel soo high and Freight rates are soo cheap.
It's sad that a man can no longer make an decent living of of this once good trade of truck driving. I tried my best to make it as an owner operator but just feels like swimming against a huge tide. I feel sad for the industry.
