New truck... but what truck?

    Well, the technology has gotten far enough that EGR is not a part of a lot of gasoline engines anymore. My 2013 Silverado 5.3L does not have EGR like previous small block V8's had. I was reading in a couple of the industry rags, that EGR will probably be able to be phased out in the next few years on heavy diesels. The technology, coupled with SCR, should make that a reality. At least I am keeping my fingers crossed that it does. Need to get that nonsense off the engines.

    That would be great if that is true about EGR being phased out on order engines.
