I looked at them when i was getting ready to put new drives on my truck. They replaced the G362 and G372 in Goodyear's lineup.
As your profile shows you in Ohio, I assume you'll be driving in snowy winter conditions more than a few times during the year. Same here.
I didn't like the G572's because they have too few voids in the tread to allow self cleaning of snow. I wouldn't expect anything you could call 'traction' from them in snow & ice.
I'd lean more towards a Michelin XDN2, Bridgestone 726EL, Continental HDL Eco Plus, or anything along those lines.
What kind of driving are you doing? What part of the country? Flatbed? Van? Tanker? -
thanks displaced yooper.
did you go with the g572 and if so how do you like them.
I will be driving in OH MI IN PA mostly, short runs with a dry van. I have goodyears g372s and have no problems with them in the snow but they have big lug with large voids to bad they do not make them any more. -
Dunlop SP 464 is suppose to be the same as the Goodyear 372 or what ever drive. http://www.dunloptrucktires.com/technology/sp464.aspx
I do not have either, but the tread blocks look different. The Goodyear shop in Austintown, OH told me to go with those instead of the 572's if I wanted to save $100 per tire. I passed, but it may be something you will want to look into.
If you are looking for traction, the Michelin XDN2 & Bridgestone 726EL are virtually the same price. Unless you have a corporate discount of some sort, which changes everything -
