    I wanted to Know ? :

    (a) Can you get on the Island ( manhatttan) from the G.W. Bridge ? :biggrin_25511:

    EVERYTIME I've crossed C.B. X-Way,in Both Directions, ( Unless I need Glasses ? )....I've NEVER seen any Truck Route Signs ! :biggrin_25513:

    (b) What Bridges CAN Access the Island ? and I've been told 53ft.'s ARE NOT ALLOWED past Mid-Town ( no Further than The Empire State Building )

    Is this also Correct ?

    Keep on Truckin' !

Yes, you can. I never left I-95 as I was just passing through, but I've driven a 53' over the GWB along with many other drivers. Also, if I remember correctly, trucks are only allowed on the upper level of the bridge.

It kinda freaked me out the first time because going from NJ to NY there's a 13' 6" clearance sign on the NY side, but there were quite a few other trucks ahead of me who were going under it just fine.

The exit off of the GWB to Manhattan is the very first exit off of the bridge. 53s are not legal within any of the 5 boroughs, but they go in all the time.

Been that way for years. They are allowed on the interstate highways, like the Cross Bronx (I-95), though.

There aren't allowed in Manhattan. They can go in the rest is what I was told. But it doesn't matter I won't do NYC anymore.

you can do 13' 6...but it doesn't leave much room if/when you hit a bump....but we all know the cross bronx is sooooo smooth that this will never happen....right? :biggrin_25523:

Plenty of room. Delivered generators on Long Island, last year. The truck unloading beside me hit every one of those overpasses and was still 14'4" tall, afterwards.
