Hello all can someone please explain to me what it means when you lease a truck with a company basicly do i have to do all there loads can i do my own can i leave when ever and still lease the truck not sure how it works thanks for any info Mike

Basically, you sign control of that truck over to that carrier. How much control they care to excersize depends on the carrier.

That's kind of what i thought leasing to a company almost make me feel like i work for them how does that make you a owner operator it just does not seem like it anyways

There's a lot more to it than that. It all depends on how much control they allow you to have over the truck. Some allow more than others. Most dictate the freight you will be hauling. It can be almost like running under your own authority or a hand holding situation.

Many of your local resturants and motels are Owner/Operators. They conduct business under a Corporate franchise name, but are locally owned, staffed and operated under the corporate guidelines. -
