i have a load in my yard going to hector to drop at 7 am and bobtail back.
we bring loads to glenco, Stewart, hutch, cloud, Rogers, willmar and Delano. Some don't pay too great but some arnt bad. -
Yeah.
Seems I have a bit of time off this week. Frame broke and it's in the shop -

No, I wish it were a cross member.
Just behind the cab mount, but in front of the rear mount for the left front spring. -
I have another shop I have talked to about stretching the frame already. I had considered stretching the sleeper enough to put a full size mattress in the back. About $1000 per inch. -
Also check out RoadOne for container running. Have a truck running from Plainfield, Indiana upto BNSF and back everyday. The truck runs 377 miles per day and the driver is home every evening unless he wants to run another. Cans will not make a guy rich but will provide a decent living.
Container Hauler, SHC and dude6710 Thank this. -
Container hauling does have some low paying freight, just like any other segment in trucking. However, I have chosen to do what others dont want to do! 50k plus tobacco and cotton loads, reefer loads of chicken weighing 90k gross, taking loads where I KNOW its 3 to 4 hours of detention($75 hour) plus overweight pay($100) plus reefer surcharge($100) so a 280 mile run paying $452 including fuel is now lets say 3 hours detention, overweight, and in a reefer, now pays me $452+$100+$100+$150 detention pays me $802 and I may use $175 in fuel!! I do 2 or 3 loads like this a week which greatly inflates my average per mile!! Don't get me started when a "load shift" is available!! I get so happy to take it I can barely control myself!! SO maybe the freight is cheaper then other segments BUT hometime is more important to me so I found a way to make money, I even went as far to buying my own tri-axle chasis that can carry 2 empty 20' foot cans or a loaded 40'foot or 20'foot can which lately Ive done a couple trips to Jacksonville,FL with 2 empty 20's and coming back with a bare chasis which paid $1973 all-in!
As far as over weight tickets; they have no problem paying them as its cheaper to pay the fine then buy a NC Overweight permitrodknocker and volvodriver01 Thank this.
