Actually, 15,500 miles a month is only 55 1/2 hours a week at 65 mph. Someone who has a truck that pulls hills as good as it does flat land could do it pretty easy as long as they kept that left door shut. I could average 68 mph out west and never go over 75 mph (the speed limit out west)

To run 15,500 mi @ 65 mph in 30 days a person would need to run 7.95 hours per day each of the 30 days. To be able to do this you would have to stay under 70 hours. This mean you can log 8.75 hours on duty per day. With 15 minutes per day for fueling & PTI, you are left with 30 minutes to load/unload. Seems to me this would be quite a challenge unless you are running Coast to Coast.

Kind of a silly question since he clearly stated "My father is an o/o there"

I would much rather be leased on to the carrier I am with. My gross was slightly over $240,000 after the carrier got their cut. Oh, & that was on 104,000 total miles. They also pay IFTA. I pay everything else. We do get paid every Friday. And I am home every weekend and sometimes during the week. We also have dispatchers that find the loads for us but on occasion I have to get on the load board myself. We are a small, but growing company and most of us have been there for several years. But hey to each his own.
