No offense but the saying "just say no to drugs" did not work for the last 30 years so I doubt "just say no to cheap freight" will work either. The reality is that one mans cheap freight is another mans savior;giving the O/O the ability to keep his business afloat for at least another day or until the next cheap load comes by. I of course do not agree with the idea of running that cheap but the reality is; there are many out there that see it as a means and justify it by practicing it. Unfortunate? Yes! Changeable? Not certain there is an easy answer other than the strong will survive and the weak will be sorted out. Just my thoughts, nothing that matters.

O'kay, you are correct, trucks only haul 90 percent, what a bunch of losers, they don't deserve decent pay. You are a winner, I am unsubscribing to this site and leaving you to your infinite wisdom. By the way, nice pic of the military rig, If you really where in the military, did you snap that pic? or did they let you wash and wax it? Thanks. you are one of the reasons drivers have no brotherhood any more.

Man, now you have it all figured out. Shhh, don't tell my drivers. They think I am working 60-70 hours a week.
Now that is an image that I don't even want in my head.

Why would it take you so long? You have done this all before. Nothing has changed between now and then. You move product from point a to point b.

There you go. A one sentence business plan for free. ;)

How do you wax OD green, that is flat, not gloss? This is what I learned on, in 1973. But, in all these years, I've lost the original pictures and negatives, so I found this pic as an example of the one I was assigned.

I've been hearing about this brotherhood, since my start in this industry. Only brotherhood that I am aware of is IBT (International Brotherhood of Teamsters), is that what you are referring, too? I've never joined them, even though I had a chance, once upon a time, when I was leased to Keystone Lines, Special Commodities Division of Transcon Lines.
Why are you leaving the women out? Is there any sisterhood? I'm sure there has to be a sisterhood, as my sister is a hood. She has terrorized every man she has ever married.

I think the over all mockery of this thread is based on almost daily threads on this subject. And typically it is based on "facts" that are found at a TS lunch counter. People want to gloss over the fact that freight rates in a given market are driven by a some what complicated market that consists of a lot more than what people want to believe.

It really is silly to think that a small percentage of loads are what drive rates. Yet that is what is focused on in these threads and not how to move up market and stop competing in the discount market with shippers that are looking for deals and find shippers that are looking for value.
