ya ya

ya ya i know shineny rims, headache rack and steps dont make me anymore money.........but damnette i bought i good lookin truck and id like to make it purty, ok ok i was really bored.....shesh
but she looks good....now when i replace the rears with those big butt singles.....polish the fronts......and throw on some chrome.....she'lll look like an 06....hey poeple get tummy tucks and ####....why not add some shine to an old truck???
i personaly like this old truck and i darn sure wouldnt take anybody's payment over mine....no matter how nice....i trust this truck to take me to the pay window consistantly....mainly becuase of brickmans maintence an mine....boy this is way easier than rodeo...plus i get better mileage than a newer one
ok enuff of me singing the priases of my older gal......but i really dont see the need of an 07 thats gettin 5 mpg.....my older gal was cheaper (like my first wife), makes me money( like my new wife) and goes consistantly like my grandparents ....wait that kinda sounded wrong.....the upfront cost was way lower, i get better mileage( than most of the newer truck owner's i have talked to) which means more money in my account, and i havent had a lick of serious trouble yet( just barely over 10k miles)
ya know i dont have any reason to act like a witch with a b

so far im loving my new job/life
yea i miss them and stuff but i am making a better future future....and i have the possiablity of making it thru the house alot.....too bad the frieght out here dount pay a darn

im not meaning to ramble and bark but ive had a few beers ( im off duty until monday morning so there logs ) but darnette, i like my job, i love my truck and family and i wouldnt trade it for anything at this point

until i get back to truckin......keep it between the ditch's and outta the ######

is it ok to say that?
if not i expect a verbal spanking soon

Coastie,,,a peterbilt dealer told me if my truck was only profiting a penny a mile, I needed to think bigger,,,,buy 100 trucks then i could make a dollar a mile

worst load yet

i took a few days off, delievered yesterday in columbia falls, went home for the night and loaded in butte this am
45000 lbs of molybdunem, in convienent 4500 lb super sacks
$1.17 pm, this sucks, at 1303 miles= $1524.51
41.5% FSC= $609.80
$35 tarp charge

ok i know i shoulda passed it up, but lets face it, nothing pays worth a darn up there so ill take any load goin to a better area, plus its an easy load

my mileage is staying consistant at 6.6-6.8 mpg

landstar is looking better and better....was talkin to a bco on the cb for about 4 hours todayabout it an he makes GOOD money.....supposedly $1.98 for all miles last year....just under $180k

grizzly ran me a grand....fixed the power divider(resealed both sides), did a service filters and oil, repaired a water leak by replacing the valves and did a half butt job of greasing the truck
turns out the desk guy thought i needed it back friday nite not monday morning so he put a rush on it, then never called to tell me it was ready, so theres a few unhappy mechanics that worked overtime on it when they didnt need to

other than that i havent alot to say except.....to those of you who want to know about being an o/o.....just look thru this section.....theres a wealth of information in this section.....but probaly not this thread as i seem to be feeling my way around in the dark half the time

LAndstar sent me some pages printed off there load boards and the flatbed stuff really paid well it seems. I seem to remember seeing some $3pm loads in there. GRanted you only get a percentage of that but it still sure beats $1.17pm
It's funny though I ALMOST never see new landstar trucks. They are almost always older trucks and alot of them arn't the nicest looking. I wonder why this is. Mabey it's just a company mentality thing. I used to work for Omega where all the o/o always had brand new, big expensie trucks. And I didn't think they paid all that well. but it was almost like a competition to have the beter truck up there

shiney new rig

well its a bottom dollar thing if the old truck runns gtood and is in good shape why do you need the pretty shinney new truck. Its all about how much you want to keep at the end. If you have a $2000 a month truck payment that another week that month you have to run. And i know allot of the guys i know at landstar take allot of the winter off since freight dureing the hollidays is so bad they take off from like thanksgiving till 1st of Feb or something like that and that way they don't fight the hollidays for short cheap junk. I think its allot of the mentalitl of the differeant people some like new shinny things some of us are happy with old reliable.

Landstar has over 9000 trucks on the road. You'll see a few ratty looking ones. One thing for sure it has to pass DOT inspection every 120 days, not just once a year.

And there are A LOT of new or newer Landstar trucks on the road. Some of the BCOs are very good at finding the top paying freight. They have their network of agents that give them the best freight. What makes it to the board is the left over that agents couldn't get one of their usual drivers to haul.

One thing to keep in mind about new or used trucks. The freight all pays the same. It doesn't matter if you have a new truck and trailer or a 10 yr old one in good shape. If $1.17 is the best you can get out of MT it all hauls the same on a new or old truck.
