I was at $150K last year.

Keep in mind you'll still haul $1.17 out of Montana. If thats the route you want to go, apply with them while you are still running for Davis. That way you can switch and not have a lot of down time.

just another day

Well I guess I am going to do it, I got that paperwork back from landstar and the paperwork from prime; looked at what Brickman had asked me and called landstar. Been over at a dealership looking at a truck and had a couple on the puter was looking at also. I went ahead and pulled my credit report and put my Gmc RtsII Bus up for sale on the net at another location, I recieved 4 hits on it the first day and one of them fellas is flying out from california to look at it; The pics were such an eye pleaser, and I am letting it go for the deal of a steal of the century. I am planning on using the proceeds to get me an Aerodyne cab KW T600 like broncrider. I am looking at a sweet deal. Bronc wish I could post those pics here. Send me a email and I shoot ya couple of the pics. Shes a '98 my only consern is I hear landstar is really picky on the Dot Inspection, at least that was what the guy at the dealership said who was trying to get me to purchase his deal. So I hope to get this custom coach off my hands and get behind a KW real soon. And you know what else is funny, the day I recieved the paperwork, keep in mind I have been off a truck since march this year, I get calls from Usxpress wanting me to come back and my buddy turned in my name to Southern Cal in Alabama to go work for them so all in the same day I get hit with Call after call, and email after email. Whew! Sorry to hear about your Tarps there Broncrider. Be safe out there it's just another day. Looking forward to hitting the road again myself. Can feel the itch coming.

itch

Man you guys are makeing my feet itch setting over here in the desert behind a desk. I all most bought a 99 xl classic last week its setting in OKC for 25995 an it is a sharp looking truck with all the chrome and chicken lights and 350,000 on an inframe. I sure do miss running down the road. A little longer and get things the way i want them and we will be back out there got ot get the ranch paid for first. Then its move to Nevada and start building the house on it. While we tour the country in the truck. Not to sure about when all this will be but with in the next couple of years i'm sure. We will be back in the states on vacation in July so i will keep an eye out as we drive around from Sacramento to Winnemucca to look at the ranch and sheck it out. If you see a Jeep cherokee looking strange don't worry its just me seeing if i know any one.

Sounds good.
Just a suggestion..... get your lease deal set up with Landstar or who ever BEFORE you take out a loan. It took me 2 months from the time I sent Landstar the paper work until I was completely approved. They had a hard time verifying some of my experience because one company was out of business. Thats a long time to sweat not having an income to make that big truck payment.
Landstar will give you the time to get your truck once you have an agreement. This is how a friend of mine did it. That lease agreement makes it much easier to get financing too.

As for the inspection, the dealer was right. Make sure you have an agreement with the dealership that it passes that first inspection at THEIR expense. Landstar will tell you where to take it as they don't allow just any body to inspect their trucks.

Amen brotha. It took me 5 months to get everything finalized with Landstar. I sure am glad that I didn't have a truck payment during that time. Yes, Landstar's annual DOT inspection is much more rigorous than a normal annual DOT. I have an old '93 volvo and a '98 Transcraft flatbed, and I spent over 6 grand getting it fixed after failing the first Landstar inspection.

Been with them for a month now and the numbers look great! Been running coast to coast and resetting at the house in Colorado every week.
I couldn't be happier.

And i know allot of the guys i know at landstar take allot of the winter off since freight dureing the hollidays is so bad they take off from like thanksgiving till 1st of Feb or something like that and that way they don't fight the hollidays for short cheap junk. I think its allot of the mentalitl of the differeant people some like new shinny things some of us are happy with old reliable.
I wasn't implying you had to have a new shiny truck. I used to have the chicken haulin peterbilts. I have spent enough of my life polishing aluminum and chasing electrical problems. I won't do it again. My matto is Paint Everything!!!

Oh and bronc rider, stay away from that brightner. it whites out that aluminum you just paid to have polished. Of course your polisher will love you for it. It won't help that red truck anyways. Red oxidises so badly. You need to get some meguires polish, not wax but the polish. It's real oily and the paint absorbs those oils. One or two applications and then a good wax and that red will come right back to life like you never knew it could. I love that stuff. My wife does alot of detailing and people can't believe it after she uses that stuff
