My biggest complaint and probably the biggest thing that got me out of OTR was I very rarely found any thing outbound that was worth a darn.

Sounds good to me too. If one can make 1.49 for all miles, out west, on loads that long...WOW! For flatbedders, that's relatively easy work, and while you may not be gettin rich, you're not one of those little pigs who's gettin' butchered. Am I missing something?

Yeah, how is he getting those loads. For a year and a half with Landstar and before that as independent I could never find that good of freight outbound from home. Thats the biggest reason I left OTR. I could always find loads home, but outbound was a huge challenge.

We seem to be hearing many good reports on Landstar ( FB / SD ) on this and couple other forums, I also have made initial enquiry with them, It seems I need another 5 mths OTR, so based on what I have searched and all the positive feedback have applied # Davis Transport to top up.
I don't want to highjack but within this context would anyone like to comment on the Pro's / Con's running US - Canada, Flatbed and typical rates $$$/ml etc.

I am also sceptical (one never really knows who is on these forums) but if 'sixbrix' is being perfectly candid, then what he's describing is a heck of a deal in my opinion. Maybe things are changing for the better.

It would be nice to hear from some other western states 'Landstarers.'

$3 plus a mile is easy to do with Landstar hauling flat/step into Canada. Of course you'll bring $1.20 all in back IF you can find any thing.

When buying your truck and you think you might go to canada you need to make sure your truck wheelbase and trailer axle settings are right.

Thanks, Brickman - Broncrider, I'm concerned about going back Co Dr OTR because of the pay but, I do need the extra 5 - 6 mths to qualify for Landstar. I am in UK presently after finishing Contract in Ukraine supply 6x6 trks to Iraq, had email exchange with Davis ( pat ross ) also been offered a job with Valley Transport in Vancover WA have any feed back on them ?
Anyway Broncrider keep the reports flowing, looks like you have massive audience.

I agree, Mequires is the BOMB!!! I use the 3 step on my cars and motorcycle. Step one is the paint cleaner, Step 2 is the polish, and Step 3 the wax. It is a time consuming pain in the rear, but the results are well worth it. I only have to apply it once every month or 2. In between applications, I'll us a product called "Mist & Shine" about once every week or 2. Awesome stuff.

Alberta.

But Townsend could have been close. Word on the street is that Double Stud's former broke back employee is now a FORMER employee of Helena sand also.

"brokeback" foreman

hold on while i pretend to be surprised at hearing that the former foreman was "runnoft". i didnt figure his tantrums would get him very far there, nor his lack of truck driving knowledge...dont get me wrong hes a nice guy but...and its a big but....show me you know what yer doing instead of telling me about it for hours on end, ya know?
