I do believe at that rate I would have sat it out. I don't believe in working and tearing up equipment for free

wally world

they have a walmart truck stop here too, im in evanston wy on I80, and the food prices are way better than at the pilot down the road.....now wheres the fuel island????

as it stands ill only make a gross profit of about $1300 on this load, but its too late to turn it down (though yes i probaly should have, i know that now) and i am goin to a great rate area so i guess thats 1 good thing to come out of this crappy load

learned an important lesson yesterday in fuel mileage....if i lug the truck much below 1350 rpm on flat ground or not my mileage suffers....i got 5.1....ouch. i was talkin to an old hand in a 05 379 today...an thats his high average, he wanted to trade trucks...lol
seems to be doing much better today but i will know for sure in the am after i fuel in ft bridger

had some snow an rain in the passes in neveda.... good roads other wise
davis's new safestat score doesnt seem to be affecting us as ive only been called into two scales in 2 and 1/2 weeks and those were for rolling wieghts
im really liking this fuel plan they have...a cost +....usaully saves me around 10 cents per gallon, although i dont get the money back until the end of the month, it should be a nice little chunk of change

well thats it i guess

my wife must be messin around....shes f###ing goofy
its a joke, reread as nessacery

That is west coast rates. If you go to the coast don't expect much of any thing good coming east.

hi broncrider

Your posts have been excellent! - Thank you and keep it coming if you can.

I do have a question: are the figures you quoted for your loads what YOU get, or is that what the carrier gets - and then you get a percentage of that?

Thank you - and again, very good work.

I remember from my produce days that you didn't really want to be stuck out there with a flatbed. I used to talk to alot of guys in SO cal and AZ that had ben sitting a long time.

Thats why when I went to the coast I usually didn't wait around too much looking for a load. I usually took the first acceptable load and ran east.

holy moly

alright, fuel mileages are in for yesterday and today
yesterday....6.5 mpg....i figured the low mileage the day before was from the way i was driving it
as for today....brickman you wont believe this....8 mpg!!!!!
before i get called names heres the miles i have ran since i fueled this am...679 total..pump to pump...and heres the amout of fuel i put in tonight...85 gallons even....i had to squeeze some in...do the math....7.98
i have no idea how this happened but i am thrilled to say the least
as for the load i have about 300 miles left to go and i will do that in the am
the numbers i have posted concerning my loads are whats paid to the truck total.....after davis's cut i beleive....ill hafta double check when i get home next friday, but ill get on an let you know for sure

now for the bad news
found out today we had anouther company truck rollover this past week in seattle....i dont know if cybergal posted the article or not but i will check
so anyway our crappy safestat score is gonna get worse
DOT will look at us alot harder and that is something this company is not used to, as i have stated before this company is very safety minded

one thing i dont get....if you know you are top heavy (load above the top of the cab in this case) and you know if you dont go slower than the advised speed (yellow sign right before the corner) by ten miles an hour (company policy to aviod this kinda stuff), wouldn't you at least try to slow down?

boy what a baffling day

I am surprised by the 8 mpg, but I do believe you that you got good mpg headed east across that stretch. Every time I was across going east I would get better MPG than usual even running 75.
