Yeah he signed his life away.

Seriously I wish him all the best with the truck. It drug my rear out of a sling in a big way and put me on a more solid financial footing than where I was when I first started driving it close to 400,000 miles ago. I hope that it makes a good living for him and his family.

o/o

an here i thought everyone knew i was buying brickmans truck and trailer ...i guess this website isnt like small town montana after all lol

yeah i signed the papers today and i wish brickamn all the luck in the world being local, i used to work for his current employer and i had a ball there, good little outfit with an awesome owner and great maintence program plus a nice truck or two...but the people in the 4 wheelers here are about as smart as your average household rock...go figure huh.

I'm sure this endevor will help me out, and im almost positive the truck wont have any major problems for quite awhile so as long as fuel prices dont go up and i can keep my foot out of the pump ill be ok....lol

If I only had the money

If I had plenty of bones in the bank, I'd probably start a small trucking company. It'd be some kind of tanker outfit that would run up into Canada and Alaska from places like Montana, Idaho, and Washington. Or maybe it'd be flatbed or heavy haul. The equipment needed to get all that oil out of Alberta's oil shale has to get up there somehow.

My first tanker load I'd take to New York City, just like old times. I could drive by Hunt's Point while givin' those idiots the middle finger salute. May run it by a Smith's or Albertson's grocery warehouse too. See if I can get a lumper these days for less than 250 bucks. Of course I'd have to ask said lumper "How much of that money do you actually take home? 1/3?" and "How much to you have to pay the dock for its kickback? 2/3s? 75%? 80%?"

Yeah I drive a Swift truck
And that means one thing
It means she's slow
It's a typical company truck
It's just all show and no go

I'm gettin' passed by Yella
And even Overnite
I'm gettin' passed by ever' body in sight
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

No, my hometown's nowhere in sight
And if you think I'm pissed off
You're right
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

Love pissing off those trucking company insiders.

Wow, Davis inspection routine must be a lot rougher than Landstar's.

Moisture in headlight O/S??????????????? I got that nice little white sticker from OR just a few months ago with the headlite like that. And those cross member bolts have been loose for years.

$24 per hour shop labor rate? That is about 1/4 of what we charge around here. Sometimes you might get lucky and find someone at about $75 but not that often

Sounds to me like the company shop is giving its O/Os a nice break on the labor.
