I was going on the OP statement about this pertaining to IC operators. They would be dealing direct with a broker under their own authority. Therefore, my statement is valid in that if the actual rate is such that a person agrees to it and chooses to haul it, it really doesn't matter what the broker is "skimming" off or not. If the load is not paying what a person thinks it should, then they should not agree to it.

A company could be started to do that, with input from drivers, but..... unless it is done via legislation to do so from the government, it will be countered legally by a team of lawyers filing for defamation of character and other goodies they can think of. And without government sanctioning a rating system on brokers, those that are involved in such an endeavor will soon find themselves on the defendent side of a civil suit. -

Then again.I have heard of O/O's getting screwed and not getting paid because the ''business'' they pulled for went under. -

Private companies routinely report reviews/ratings of everything from restaurants to ebay sellers to strip clubs without fear of lawsuits. Why would brokers be any different? Merely publishing reviews of a business isn't defamation of character. If it was, this site would have been sued out of existence long ago. -
Im a company driver and some of my loads are % loads, do I have a leg to stand on by telling them I want to see the freight bill's so I know that Im getting the money owed to me?
landstar8891 Thanks this. -
I even had guys give me a ''bill'' that was clearly fudged and had white out on it.. -
Why would anyone stay with a company they think is skimming money. Stealing from them? No way, no how.
We get 70% of what load pays. Plus FSC, of course. Sometimes % isn't that great when you have a long dead head but like someone said, with % you get great loads, good loads, okay loads and poor loads. But I'd much rather do the % than do the per mile bit. For the simple fact there's always a fluctuation in loads. One time a load might pay 3.75 a mile or it might pay $49 a ton. Plus FSC. We coulda signed for $1.06(something like that) for every mile driven, loaded/unloaded. Plus FSC. At the end of the year, more money gets put in the bank via % than would on a per mile deal. At least in the situation we're in, pulling dry bulk.
