So at the yard I'm currently parking my truck there is been a lot of diesel being stole from trucks. What do you guys use to prevent this looking fuel cap cover? I heard that they aren't reliable and then you can't open them anything else ?

There is no way to stop your diesel being stolen.
Locks , anti siphon guards , alarms, motion activated cameras etc can be broken or by past often just causing damage to your truck.
Often all you have to do is make it more difficult to steal from your truck then from trucks parked around you.
All you can do is make your truck the least desirable to steal from.
Having empty tanks is the most effective if this is at all possible.
If not try the above mentioned. -

You know someone with an unused truck close by? Park it there and fill the tanks with solvent. After the thieves motor gets trashed it won't be using much more fuel and might put them out of business.
chalupa, driverdriver, danwantstodrive and 4 others Thank this. -
If you are not busy I would fill her up to the top. Then camp out for the weekend with that .44 magnum. When the diesel thieves show up pop em a couple times. Leave them laying there for everyone to see. Diesel thefts should slow down for a while.

like the solvent idea. had problems at a park i lived at. freind was fixing his truck and had put solvent in his tank to clean it out and we found out few days later who was stealing the gas.
