It is a sad shame when you go in to take a shower and come back out to find that the truck parked next to you stole you fuel and went down the road. This morning it happened at the LOVE'S in Baytown...was only gone 22 minutes and came back and noticed the truck next to me was gone and got in my truck to start it and I had no fuel left..

Another sad thing was that I had the anti-siphon protectors in the tanks and all they did was punch the bottom of the protector out from both tanks and drained them dry.....This was not done by your average Joe who had to suck on the hose to draw the fuel...This guy must of had a pump rigged under the bunk to siphon the fuel quickly and get down the road..

It used to be an unwritten code out here that nobody messed with and respected another drivers truck But especially not mess with the fuel tanks of another truck. If it did not belong to you, then you left it alone.

To many new breed of truck drivers out here that do not understand or comprehend the way things work...

But after today's lesson, mark my word thieving ### truck driver , If you park next to me, I will write your license plate number down and take the DOT number from the side of your truck So that if you are gonna steal my fuel , then YOUR ### is going to Jail and You will never have to worry again about putting free fuel in your truck

It still would be hard to prove without video, or witnesses.

Hopefully they will get caught eventually, and get prison time.

Did you notify the truck stop? Maybe they have cameras and can see who did it... Slim chance but might help.

I have front and rear facing cameras on my truck. They capture the company names and DOT numbers on the trucks beside me, as well as images of the people that walk around my truck. I've never had anyone fool with my truck, and I'm sure that the rear facing cameras mounted on the mirrors are a big deterrent.

New Breed? Maybe it's just the Old Dogs learning new tricks?

Don't forget the "Security Cameras In Use" decals over the fuel caps.

I have to agree, there has always been thieves, everywhere and anywhere we go.

Getting a camera does seem to be the only way now to protect ourselves from everything that is going on around us.

But another sad thing is, if they think you got all that high tech stuff in your truck, and they know your not in it...well enough said.
