that old ratty truck will eventually need to be replace. sure. but in the meantime. it's free and clear of payments. therefore can haul cheaper.
if i owned my truck. and had my own authority. i could haul for $1 all day long. all week long. and all year. and still make the same .32 cents a company driver makes. if i wanted to factor in a savings account for maintanance. then it would be bumped to $1.25.
but when you add the complete expense package. $1.50 would be my lowest. IF i owned my truck and trailer and ran my own authority. AND, .lived on the east side of the country where houses are CHEAP.
