Electronic logs are pretty easy to haul.

First i would do a internetsearch on how the loggingindustry is doing in your area.
If it is in decline then there's no point in you looking to haul logs.
A declining industry has extreem low prices.

Find out where the paper mills are, then go there and talk to some log haulers delivering there.

haulings logs in the southeast off logging sites is very very rough on equipment, rear ends especially, the loading sites are usually on dirt roads just cleared for the logging operation, you will get pushed/pulled to the loader many times. the pay ranks lower than containers.

I honestly don't see how guys in my area of southeast ga keep themselves going, most make about 400 to 500 a week after expenses

Not any different in the PNW. Logging went in the toilet years back so wages are rediculously low. Goat trails,Beaver slides,Mud up to your ###,Chain up 3-4 times a day or more,Hairpins on cliffs w/ a 300-500 ft drop to the Canyon...........up side, once you drive a logger the rest of it's easy.
