    hi Guys,

I just bought a truck and it came with 4 new Goodyear recap drive tires, but the other 4 are really bad used recaps that i want to replace, I'm looking to put 4 new virgin tires . I'm curious which axle should I put those 4 new tires on ? The truck is 2009 pete 387 and will be running team coast to coast.

Which rear axle has more weight ? Which axle should i put new tire on ?

On the side note: On my reefer trailer I been running 4 recap and 4 virgin and been very happy no blow-ups last few months. The 4 virgin tires on the trailer are on the trailer's back axle.

I would put the new tires on a rear axle... They wear out faster

Some one will call me out but, I dont think it matters how you run your tires. However on truck tires, be sure they dont have side wall age cracks. They hold 110lbs so you want a clean tire with good tread.

i agree new tires should go on the rear drive that axle tends to do most of the driving anyway and also if you have to much of a gap in tire size warn out on front axle new on rear axle does cause heat and where in the power divider and from side to side causes spider gears to wear and makes heat

You CAN run recaps on a steer axle!! Just not on a bus!!
