why is so hard to make decent money as an owner operator in south fl?

    That is because there are to many people in this business that have no idea how to run a business. It is to easy to sign your name on the dotted line and become a truck owner. Very few every figure out that this is a business and you have to know actual operating cost per mile, no matter if the trailer is loaded or not. They don't know what it takes to operate a truck, and they only see a paycheck at the end of the week, not realizing they will be broke the first time they have to buy tires, put in a clutch, or have some other major break down. Then they sit around and wonder why they went bankrupt

    I know a guy who ''lives'' in Florida.

    He is very smart.He gets a load to the Northeast and works up here(short hop) for 2 weeks and makes a Killing.Then he goes back with a load to Florida and stays home for a while and does it all over again..Smart Man...

    Down South is not a good business plan.I stay away from all that ''cheap stuff''...
