USA What about becoming an Owner/ Operator

So, everything I am reading on these sites is that pretty much every company S_CKS and is out to rip me off.
What about becoming an O/O? Is there any money in that?
Thanks again in advance for your thoughts.

There are many many articles in the O/O section that cover this question extensively. Feel free to browse them and ask questions.
