I have a friend that wants to rent a truck for a few days, figured you guys would know. He runs local, pulls a step deck. his own farm equipment. About how much would it cost to rent a standard daycab. Ive never rented before so i assume that he wouldn't have to pick a specific. Hes 38 years old and no accidents in the last 10 years. Good Credit. idk if that matters. What is a decent large rental company to rent from? ( a place with good equipment no junk) His location is Augusta GA

Most rental companies will not rent a tractor to someone who doesn't have their own authority and commercial insurance so that may be his biggest problem. Ryder, Penske, AIM National Lease, Translease, etc are all about the same price, day cab without wet line (which are hard to find on a short term rental) are typically $125 to $150 a day and 20 to 30 cents per mile plus you provide all fuel and insurance.
I run for a local towing company and we have a hard time renting even from the rental companies we tow for, they are very picky. It may be cheaper in the long run to hire a local transport company. -
He has his own authority and cargo DOT'ed progressive commercial insurance. i dont know his limits. lol maby he should take my advice and hire me haha. he will just get the driver with the truck
