Sure wish ole Kevin would come up and try those xda energies with slight overinflation up north right now ;)

    I enjoy the program.

Like the Dave Ramsey of trucking instead of debt we have mpg. Occasionally something interesting.

All the business sense in the world can't make up for a guy that can't handle a truck.

You see all those old FLDs and Columbias with bumpers and fairings flopping in the wind? Or those 379s with bent back stacks and fenders that were hooked and bent? How about those halfassed tarp jobs?

Those are guys that can't handle a truck and can't do the work and are doing costly damage to their equipment. Cutting into their bottom line.

I didn't catch the program myself but, I have listened to KR for a long time. Yes his shows are like people say, same ole drivers calling in bla bla bla That being said, every once in a while I learn something on a show so, I keep listening. I also read religiously on this forum so I get an informed decision. I believe 100% that KR does care about putting more money in an O/O's pocket. He would be a saint if he left his wife and did what he does for free, right? No one would do that my fellow drivers, no one. He is out to make money as we ALL are, but I don't think he is doing it at the expense of others. I believe KR was simply saying that he could take a driver with only a months experience, and make him a good O/O. I am sure he wasn't actually saying that a driver doesn't NEED to know how to drive to be an O/O. His focus is on making O/O's better O/O's, that's what he does.

I hope I am not going to spark a debate about KR, I am just saying basically that KR cares about what he does, that is rare in this industry, roger. There are others that I think care seriously about helping others like BBB and, he makes money for what he does. Many of the other ole hands that come on here give their advice freely. I am sure some of them wouldn't mind getting paid to give advice. Than there are those like my father in-law that would give the shirt off his back for anyone, and could have easily been a millionaire. Have a good night drivers...

i think anyone could probably make anyone a successful o/o. but, AT WHAT COST. cuz your certainly not going to be a success right off the bat. specially when you have no clue.

Driving and business is easy. It's all the Bravo Sierra that's hard to take.

You need to spend some time learning your trade before jumping in the deep end. So you're gonna buy a truck and be Mr. Transportation Trump in a day, eh? What do you look for in a truck to decide whether it's a winner or something that's gonna suck the financial life out of you?

Choose wrong, and plan on living under the bridge for awhile.

That's why you need to be a company driver for awhile... like a couple of years... and make your mistakes (and learn your lessons) there.

A mix of both is what you need to be a successful O/O. You're a businesses man first and a driver 2nd HOWEVER you can't be successful ripping equipment to shreds and having accidents. So I'd say his add holds some water but not much.
