Any company that pays with a mileage based pay structure is a bass idea to lease on to. It ends up being about a third less pay than you would be getting with a quality carrier paying percentage.
I'd putt mercer and landstar at the very top of a very short list of good owner op carriers. And since I'm with mercer, I bet you can figure out which one I think is better.

I ,m pretty content with bruenger but i think any company paying on a % that has direct customers where you live is a winner

I have found that one of the issues with GW when it comes to brokering them freight is they are very tight on the credit. When it was my own brokerage authority I offered to pay them on pick-up and they still wouldn't take it. And that was after 6-hours of trying to get the packet completed. Now, working with a large, well established company with great credit they still give us a hard time.

But if they can't go out and find you freight when they don't have it then is hurting you.

How long have you been with them and what do you normally see in terms of gross per mile to the truck when they do keep you running?

Been with then for 8 years been doing ok until the last 2 years was on a WalMart account.. now just trying to run and make it... our gross per mile is up and down.. one week we will do almost 2... then as of the last month it has been about 1.35 to 1.5.... Had a driver last night load his pick up up and go to the house... He said call him when it gets better...

We are looking for options now... can't lose a hard nosed runner over a company getting lilly nilly.. on ya...

Are those to the truck numbers? I can't imagine running a truck at a buck fifty, let alone 1.35

I wouldn't run for that either. The math doesn't work...
