Save the golden Twinkie you #### when you got that quote!!! That is outrageous. I pay less than you were quoted have more cargo coverage, 2 trucks, 1 driver has points (not me) and I still only pay 24k/year for unlimited milage. That is flat out outrageous what they quoted you bayou. Something isn't right with that quote at all. No way should it be that high.

I better call my insurance company and see what its going to cost me. I am getting ready to start back up again and sure wasn't expecting higher insurance like your quote.

Why are you paying 24k a year for only 2 trucks/trailers?? Thats even ridiculous...Should be around 9-10k.......

Oh Nevermind......I think i know why, Experience

That's one thing I'm big on I don't want any mileage radius! I'm not going to lie I do have some claims on my lost runs but even going back five years it's only $47,000. It don't matter that I had five trucks at one time and now I'm down to one and the fact not one claim was me as a driver all they see is one truck five years $47,k in losses

Hauling livestock probably has something to do with it also.

Can sure make working under a carrier seem better.
Insurance cost was one of the reasons I dropped authority and went with Mercer.. Just saying.

Well...bacy to the original question,,"Are the good times gone"? Absolutely...And Heres a story..

Back in the early 1990's....I was picking up a load of rolled paper from the Port in philadelphia..(You guys remeber the place right on the river)..

Anyway,Im backed in the Dock,Waiting to Load...(It was a long day there ,probably 3-4 hours)......I began cleaning the inside of my truck to pass time...I was Armour-All ing the Dash and all of a sudden i feel a "Thump"

"What the heck"......I look up and I see the Nose of a White freightliner up against my front bumper.......

I get out of my truck to see what happened......NOBODY was in the drivers seat....But I seen someone sitting in the passenger seat.....Im thinkin' What the ----

I look over in the passenger side of the truck and all I see is a man sitting their perfectly still..I knock on the door..But he didnt open it..So I did.....He turned his head to look at me...He was wearing Thick Glasses and His Cheeks were Bright Red.....He said NOTHING..I said "Hey why is your truck up against mine?" He wouldnt answer me...............

I ran into the shipping office and asked who was driving the Munson truck? Driver said.."Me"..I said your truck apparently just Rolled into Mine..

He said.."Oh cr@p"...I think i forgot to set the brakes........i just looked at him...His Face a Bright shade of Crimson also......I said "What the heck is going on here"? He just smiled at me

He came out and put his truck in reverse and everything was cool..No damages..........I asked." How did you forget to set your brakes?"..........He and his passenger both just looked at me and Smiled ........Next thing you Know......... all 3 of us were in my Truck Getting Stoned....

Not sure how that is even close to relevant with the term " are the good times gone". To me that's immature and irresponsible....
