I'm building a spreadsheet to calculate my total earnings per load. This is in hopes to break down load offerings and to see if the load really is worth taking. I've put together a sample and would like to know if I'm doing the calculations properly. Thanks

EXAMPLE:

P/U
Deliver
Paid Miles
Actual Miles
Rate
FSC
Truck Earns
MPG
FPP

Gallons needed
Total fuel cost
Actual Earnings
Rate Per Mile

Monroeville, AL
Chicago, IL
778
859
$1,150.00
$346.21
$803.79
6
$3.85
143.17
$551.19
$598.81
$0.70

The calculations are as follows: FSC is figured at the current rate times paid miles. Truck earns is Rate minus FSC. FPP is fuel pump price. Fuel costs is actual miles/MPG*gallons needed. Actual earnings is FSC-Total fuel cost+truck earns. Rate per mile is simply actual earnings divided by actual miles.

Please keep in mind that this is just to calculate what my truck may earn per offered load.

Thank you.

Instead of paying the Pump price, why not join a fuel network and save some $ off the pump price?

I plan on doing that, I'm just asking if my math is correct. I want to make sure that I'm calculating things correctly so that I can see at a glance what a loads breakdown will be, along with a estimated profit/loss should i decide to accept a load. Keep in mind that my first post is merely na example. There's no chance I would accept a .70cpm load. I'd be broke within a year, lol.

Do you run per mile or percentage? I have a spreadsheet I use for the same thing, but it is for percentage.
