What makes some O/Os successful using Load Boards while others fail using them?

Thanks for the idea Rollin Coal.

Some Drivers are only signed up with a few Brokers and for one reason or another, lack the essentials to receive, fill out and return the Broker/Carrier package that would allow them access to other loads.
During our school years, we all received different grades on our report cards, this would reflect the level of success we achieve in most of what we do in life.

If you can't do most of your own maintaince it will be a hard row to hoe for a while. Brokers want to get freight covered cheap as possible not to save the customer money but to fund their bank account. You can't haul 1.00 mile freight to get you to a better place that takes you back to a place you will get 1.00 mile. You will go broke. Get qualified with as many brokers as possible so you will have options, most of them offer quick pay now also which will help with cash flow. When I get offered cheap loads it's simple, no. I don't work for free and don't expect my drivers to.

O/o will be successful when all brokers disappear ..they change 20-30% profit ..and passes the left over to O/o ..

More importantly, owner-operators will become successful when OTHER owner-operators quit hauling Subpar Freight

We need Brokers to go out and find us the freight for a fair and reasonable rate. We also need O/Os who know and understand the value of their service.

just say no to cheap freight and learn your freight areas, for example dont go to NE and expect a $2 per mile load out of there, brokers know this and they fishing for cheap trucks till their load becomes hot and have to move, thats when you dictate your rate.

    GITRDUN45 Thanks this.
