Obviously they run slow and all that, but just wondering if you take the leash off if it'll be fine. I'm just scared if I bought one after 900k of 62mph driving that they may become more of an issue. They're 475 cat C15 with 13 and 3:36 rears. Not bad running gear, just kind of wondering people's thoughts. I know they maintain them pretty well, but they're also beat on pretty good by rookies. (Yes, that was me at one point.) obviously I'd get the truck dynoed and all that, but I just am looking for some input. Thank you!

By the way their trucks are always clean . I would think that they would be well maintained as well.
Most likely time for a overhaul.
what do they want for them ? Around 30 to 40 I assume. ..

The 127" hood are around $50k the 119" is around $40k I believe. Depending on miles obviously. If they sold my old one it had the top rebuilt last February. But yeah, I'm guessing most are about due. I definitely have never had an issue getting something fixed on their trucks.

Seems like there was a owner on here a couple of years ago who bought one and the transmission grenaded on him not long afterwards. Maybe some other problems also. Can't remember it was a long time ago. Don't know if a search would do any good? Seems to be hit & miss most times. Probably ready for an inframe maybe ask Richter what sort of OCI's and maintinence routines they have.

As ive said before, they dont maintain them all that well. they go 40k in between lube and oil changes. Ask any o/o, that's way to long between lubes. Most of the trucks for sale need an inframe. Mine had 9??,??? on it and they sold it as is. It needed an inframe and was going through 2 gallons of oil a week. Who ever bought it got screwed. You wouldnt see it in an oil sample because it was going through oil faster then the oil would get dirty. Unless you drove it for a week, you would have no idea how fast is was using oil.

But anyways, Much past 65 in those trucks and you can kiss mpg goodbye. the cats dont like high rpm and they are at 1400 to run 62. Most tmc trucks only get 5-6 mpg. Only the best driver break the 6 barrier. Dont forget those trans and clutches were abused by newbies most of their life. A 13 speed trans cant take a beating as well as a 10.

Every 40k they change oil and lube. They might fix the laundry list of items that are broken. Fuel gauges never work and are never repaired. Lots of small annoying problems. Most have off brand tires. They love to fix external cosmetic issues. my trans was pretty loose and would occasionally jump out of gear when i drove their truck. Keep in mind most trucks last 1,000,000 miles before needing major motor and trans work. TMC trucks are high 9's and were driven by abusive drivers and not perfectly maintained. That expected million miles goes down when trucks are abused.

"A 13 speed trans cant take a beating as well as a 10." Couldn't agree more. Actually, it's more like they don't.

The top inst a whole inframe right? What does "the top" include? Either way, they definitely aim to get them to the finish line without any major work, but some kick the bucket early.

Well, i had an issue by Fargo where the "fuel system" failed while I was driving up 94. Truck died on me. Took two hours to figure out the filter would help. Started the truck, it was blowing white smoke and missing. They said to continue on to consignee. Luckily it was just a jd digger. Damien called me and said stop immediately and get to Fargo Allstate. Well, two rides and a week later they said they had a rebuilt top end and some new injectors thrown in? Apparently the head cracked. So me not being too smart with engines just took it as they told me. Truck had 730k on it. Take that as you will. It pulled pretty good after that I know. Pulled a pinnacle to Georgia with no problems. Idk you tell me? Haha
