I just called progressive insurance and was quoted 16,000 a year---yes sixteen thousand. There has to be someone alot cheaper

Hi uh, 1st, what was this in regards to, the 16K and 2nd, it's been my experience, there are much better ins. companies than Progressive.( just check out customer satisfaction ). I'd stay away from any company that pours millions into TV ads.

One truck you should find 4-6 range depending on what you haul and your driving record. Mine is thru northland.

    I doubt that is bobtail.Most likely liability,collision & cargo.Mine is right at $6300.00 per year for 1 truck,3 trl's,unlimited radius coverage.

I posted in the wrong category it was supposed to be in my post "thinking---trucker" so no one knows what I am referring to. Ok i am a newbe with no experience and signing up for a CDL class and when completed I am going to buy a new dump truck along the line of a Freightliner 114sd if it can be had for around 160,000. I will be driving in a 100 mile radius. I have a perfect record

    Thanks

new business combined with no experience is what is driving the quote so high. after your first year you should be able to get a much better rate.

with experiance they hit me pretty hard on my first year just because i was a new business with no history

by all means get as many quotes as you can from different company's but it wont be cheap. after you have some driving experience and some history you will be able to do a lot better. assuming no major claims or accidents/tickets.
