yeah either way im keeping this truck, if i get a new one ill keep this one as a spare. i ended up putting about 25k into this truck last year and its been about as trouble free as you could hope for this year with no break downs what so ever. (knock on wood) just normal repair items that you would have on any truck that gets run everyday. so if i get a new truck ill defiantly keep this one around. that way if the other has a break down or is due for some work to be done i can just hop in this one and go.

iv already got way more money into this truck than the truck is worth so no sense in selling it.

I am starting to think that if im going to compromise on not getting everything i want in a new truck why not just throw the money i would put into buying another truck into this one to make it more of what i want. i already know what i have with this truck vrs buying a truck that could be even more a money pit. or having to do alot of the same items over again on the new one (air compressor, dryer, air to air, radiator, water pump, fan clutch, replacing all the rubber fuel lines, all new coolant hoses, re-sealing the oil cooler, clutch, ect ect) either way it will be decisions ill have to live with for at least a few years. either way ill never get my money back out of this truck on re-sale if i do ever sell it.

i think getting rid of this goofy 9 speed i have in this truck would make a huge difference in drive-ability, 1st gear is way to tall, it doesn't have a deep reduction gear, top gear is about where id want it with the 3:73 but being able to split when heavy would make a big difference as well. but the biggest drive ability issue with this truck is climbing out of soft dirt from a stop at 90k.

a 18 or even a 13 would be a huge improvement and with the extra 200rpm over drive i could probably go up to 4.10's in the rears and even further improve the start-ability. throw some lockers in it or at least a Detroit in the rear axle if i were to change the 3rds.
