    Hello everyone

I am a new guy here.

I have a question about your drug testing companies. I have no problem with the reasons for drug testing and have no problem passing the tests but my number has been pulled 7 of the last 8 quaters. It costs allot of money and it is a pain in the butt. Years ago I would go maybe two years without a test but not lately.

Is this normal for everyone? Or should I start looking for a new consortium?

    Thanks for your help
    Mike

I'm really not sure how it works...but I DO know, that there are times when it seems your name gets stuck in an annoying circle.

I too have gone a year or two without my name ever popping up...then all of the sudden it's every two weeks. I got so annoyed (since the testing was done on MY time, and MY gas to get to the collection site), I asked my boss if he kept sending ME because he knows I can pass a test...or if my name was honestly popping up every time. He told me it is "luck of the draw".
So I sent corporate a bill for my time and gas---never got a dime.

My whole problem with the "random" testing is WHY DON'T EVERYBODY GET TESTED (especially city, state, and national Government employees). Either test everyone....or test nobody!

It sounds like your consortium is very small. You might want to look at OOIDA as they will have a larger number to pull from.

It might not be the case for you in particular. Many times when someone comes of an injury that requred time off with meds. You will be targeted to make sure that you have not become hooked on painkillers ect. A friend of mine broke his hand with a winch bar and he was tested every 3 weeks for 6 months after returning to work.

Make sure you are being compensated to take it or tell him you will call your lawyer.

I ran for a local company years ago. I had what was considered the top job in the company, along with three other drivers, and everybody wanted to do what I was doing.

Every time a random came up, all four of us had our numbers come up, without exception. All the other higher positions also had a much higher rate of drivers being tested than the lower positions had.

Never had it confirmed, but it seemed pretty obvious to us what was going on. The lower jobs were really hard and drivers only stuck it out because they knew, if they worked hard for a few years, they would get promoted up. We had trouble keeping these drivers, so we didn't want to catch them as often because their spots were really hard to fill, and it was a good thing when one of the better positions was opened up because it let the lower drivers move up and it gave hope to those who were having trouble hanging on.
