Anyone finding some great rates lately? What lanes are paying? DAT shows that van/reefer/flatbed rates if averaged together are at $2.32. Sound right?

FLATBED
LOL You're killin' me.
Seriously though, thanks for the info!! -
There's no way 275 that's not happening, rates were not that good thrirty years ago and they have only dropped since!
-
So what are you averaging? -
Seems all lanes are slowing down lately
Tamiami Thanks this. -
There is a shortage of trucks in a good percentage of the country. O/O please don't sell yourself short, seeing good rates for my tractors and have been paying a good rate when I broker. Don't bite on the first song and dance. Stop with the backhaul rates, or make sure you get paid for the round if your local. Or localish
Classic97, grizzly, Charli Girl and 2 others Thank this. -
I have an account that is also hauled by several of the large mill type companies, but I load the loads that they need to be on time, no excuse and they pay what was negotiated on my contract, CR Swift and a couple of other are loading the same products, but for a dollar less per miles.
I simply found loads and companies I like working with ask for thier requirements, and started bidding on my own loads. Tulare area to Des Moines, Marshalltown to Los Angeles. Works for me. 2.41 per mile. ANd the customer pays for refer fuel.
The icing is the speed limits in Utah (85) and Wyoming (75), Nevada is not bad either.Tamiami Thanks this. -
Don't know what it takes to get into Canada, but this week there were a group of 'Power Only' loads to Ontario, 549 miles from Brazil, Indiana (Great Dane) for $2400. You get 7 days to deliver new trailer and while you have it you are authorized to pull loads using that new trailer.
So you could grab an Indy~Detroit and proceed on to Ontario (Mississaugua, actually). Get paid 2x, once for del new trailer and, second, for load you haul in that trailer. Check out trulos.com for 'Power Only'. It's a free load board.
After about dying out in 2008-2009, power-only loads are back in a big way. Usually more power-only lately than van loads out of Indiana. Mostly new trailers.Truckcorps and Tamiami Thank this. -
Taken out to the woodshed for using the word... BACK HAUL!
