I guess mileage and use would've been another good piece of info. These are day cabs running no more than 2k a week, if even that. I also get engine oil analyses each time I go as well.

    Thanks for all the responses.

Why change the oil when there's nothing wrong with it? I had a mechanic drop the pan on my C-15 @ 800K. He pulled a couple of bearing caps, put them right back on & told me he wasn't going to waste my money & his time changing them.

I run a bypass oil filter, sample every 20,000 miles. Went 105,000 miles on my last oil. Change it. Truck has 980,000 miles on it, still running strong, only add a gallon every 10,000-11,000 miles.

if I didn't have a bypass filter, I would change it every 15,000 miles.

If you spin a bearing you engine is trashed and your block is trash as well. It costs me $1,100 to get my bearing changed. Much cheeper than an overhaul. .... I would rather spend the 1,100 and have a piece of mind that I dont have to worry.
