Sure would like to get rid of carpet in my truck. Carpet in trucks is the worst thing you can have.

    Ruthless and bergy Thank this.

Think I will get JJ and the neighbor to do our truck...We did the living room in the house a few weeks ago such an easy clean up with the dogs.

I've done a bunch of that stuff. Depends on the product but figure 25-30 lbs per box. And I would think 3 boxes would easily do the average truck as mrbamcclainsaid.

A circular saw, framing square, is all you really need. It's handy though to use a table saw to "sculpt" cuts that go around something.

Hey mrbamcclain. How are you going to finish the edges, since you can shoot pin nails down through your trim pieces? Maybe flat trim with double sided tape? I'm interested, so please let us know. Very nice looking job BTW.

    RunFlat and mrbamcclain Thank this.

RC, Those bathroom mats work well with carpet as well. Get the ones with the rubber backing on them and they really help keep the crud from soaking into your carpets.

I have a framing gun, but was unsure if I could find the small head nails to work with it so I've actually thought about exactly what you said and just using double sided tape and or glue. I really wanna run a trim that will somewhat match the floor or the cabinets, but my goodness trim costs more than the actual floor!

I'm waiting on my sawzall to finish charging now so I can put in this a/c unit I'm gonna try out since the stand up unit I have isn't good for anything more than actual heat!
I'll get more pics up as I clean up

    bergy Thanks this.

I could supply enough trim for two trucks, I agree it is high but my father in law makes it. My truck has plywood floors instead of aluminum would the laminate flooring still work? Carpentry work is something I know nothing about.

Yep would still work just fine. If you have thick enough plywood already down there and the noise level is acceptable you really don't even need to use the under barrier stuff I used. (It's high as all get out! $55 for 100sq ft.)

Fear not, I have no considerable experience in any carpentry myself, just willing to give anything an attempt.

Do it to all my trucks too.
Get home with it, remove both seats, fit flooring, install drivers seat only. I always carry a German Shepherd, so his dog bed is down there.

I've admired your projects in the past as a lurker. Generator, AC cut in, floors - you do nice stuff Martin.

    Thank you!
Most is out of saving money, and doing stuff myself. Take your time and it normally works out fine!
Sometimes you have to think outside the box, to either make life easier, make the truck look better, or save you money by not having to run the truck for ac etc.
