I own my truck and would like to hear any suggestions for companies to lease on to, not necessarily based out of Georgia, but with a lot of freight around the Atlanta area so I can get home every now and then. I would prefer a company that primarily does drop and hook and has decent paying feight with good dispatchers. I also would like any other suggestions other than Landstar due to the fact that they put elogs in every truck now. It does not have to be a compnay that only runs SE or any particular part of the country, I like the option to go all over if the frieght is good. Thanks for your input.

If you like Flatbed work, I hear a lot of good things from Fike Truck Lines Owner/Operators. I believe they are out of Hope, AR.

Warren Transport http://www.warrentransport.com/ out of Waterloo, IA. goes to Georgia a LOT with good paying John Deere freight.

Elogs should not be a deciding factor. They can be a pain in the butt/annoyance, but they won't effect your income unless you plan on hauling a lot of cheap freight. Get with a carrier that has good paying freight and then you will never worry about running out of hours again.

I would do your research on this company, I don't know what you consider good paying, but unfortunately John Deere seems to be more focused on saving a buck or two than they are about paying a quality carrier to deliver top notch service. Another thing to consider is this, EVERY truck that I have ever seen that is leased to them looks like it is a retired container truck. People who are making money don't drive ratted out junk.

On the contrary Oscar...the raggedy trucks you might be seeing, are most likely retired Warren Owner/Operators, whom hire drivers to drive their ride. Can't be helped if the truck owner wants to run the truck ragged.
You're making assumptions. I have lived here all my life, and know the company, know the Owner/Operators, know John Deere, and know the freight.
See...John Deere isn't necessarily the ones trying to "save a buck"; they pay good....but on the other hand if you or I wanna buy a tractor, we too will pay good.
Perhaps YOU should do your research sir.

P.S.- If a tractor is "road worthy" and can pass a D.O.T. inspection...why buy a new one every 3 or 4 years like the big companies that steal money from their already under-paid drivers to buy them?

So you think you are the only company being offered these john deere loads? Just like every other customer, they offer them to many trucking companies. You are getting them because none of the rest of us will pull those loads for the rate you consider "good pay".
