So I just got a phone call from a GUY about RUNNING DEDICATED,here's how the conversation went.
He says well,1st thing comes out his MOUTH is this is NOT A TURNOVER?? Immediately I'm like hmm??
Then he says he got OWNER OPERATOR dedicated runs and OWNER OPERATED-TEAM dedicated runs??
I ask what freight you got and how heavy are the loads he says it GENERAL FREIGHT,what about the weight?
    He never answered.

I asked about the mileage he gets happy as a HUNTER on the 1st day of DEER SEASON,He goes to ranting
O yeah well it's 520 miles turn around and you can do as many as you want ,we got work 24 hours around the clock if you want-HE THEN PROCEEDS TO TELL ME that I can take off ANYDAY I want, but then he says these loads are time sensitve.

So when we get down to the nuts and bolts of things

I ASKED ABOUT THE PAY( BRACE YURSELFS GUYS) LMAO
He says well the run pays

$1.01 CPM plus 100% of the FSC?

I GOT QUIET for a scond LAUGHING TO MYSELF -he says hello, hello,HELLO

    I Said wait a minute?

am I running on my plates and Insurance or yours?

    Then he got Quiet,
    Never answerd

Sooo at this point I'm n GO F YO SELF MODE- Because now
I feel like your INSULTING MY INTELLIGENCE

So I asked him is there any more Room to wiggle with?
He says well what u mean? What you talking about?

He says well what are you doing with your truck right now I said NOTHING

& at that RATE ILL KEEP HER PARKED FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR WITH NO PROBLEM

Im weighing my options with different leasing companies
So I said its time to YANK HIS CHAIN A LITTLE,

SO I threw him a bone and he bit INSTANTLY,

I said (Well I was thinking I mite go with LS,MERCER Or YANK BOXES)

LMAO DUDE GOT DEFENSIVE AND IMMEDIATELY WENT TO BLABBERING ABOUT CONTAINERS pay good money but when it slows down,it slows down.

Trying to get me take the DEAL for that PRICE

I replied BUBBA,that's with any business

    Glad I'm not Noob

So then he asks for my other info and said that someone would call me,
I said no thanks SOMEONE WILL CALL YOU HAVE A GOOD DAY SIR

    SUMS IT UP
    520 Miles a day @6 Days a week - 3120 miles
    3120 miles/5mpg =624 Gallons a week
    624x4=2496

$1.01+.43 CPM fsc (not sure what this week fsc is but ex.)= $1.44 pm (All in)

    $1.44× 3120
    $4492.80-$2496
    $1996?

what about insurance n plates never got a answer
i deduct a certain % out off the top for ESCROW N TAXES EVERY WEEK NO MATTER WHAT

    But this is a MUCK!

So yeah just curious as to what my fellow Ops would do

LOL good Scenario I MUST ADMIT

    Feel free to chime in
Note: I FORGOT TO ADD he also said that its mostly drop and hook, but sometimes I would have to bring to stores let them unload and load the carts back into trailer-HE NEVER MENTIONED ANY ADDITIONAL MONEY for loading or wait time or wait pay?
That's why I asked for any wiggle room on that price.

3120 miles/ week can easily be done at 55mph -- especially with a weekend reset. That should be at least 7mpg with no idling (446 gal).

    At $3.75/gal = $1672/week fuel

    $15,000/year plates, permits, & insurance divided by 50 work weeks = $300/week.

    20cpm maintenence & truck replacement cost --$624/week.

    -------
    ~$2600/week costs

~$1900/week income & home every night?

There is no reset ,he suggest I take off on a TUES, and at 55mph that's almost 10 hours of drive time
So even if I tightened up at 70 mph it would still be close, including traffic and school zones & if I tried to run 8 hours a day
Plus I forgot to mention he said SOMETIMEs I MITE have swap but then i mite HAVE TO GO TO STORE AND WAIT FOR THEM TO UNLOAD ME,so that's why I was ASKING FOR A BIT MORE ..to make up for that ,he didn't discuss WAIT PAY,Wait time either

6 days/week means reset is possible. Start at 0500 Tuesday, stop by 1900 Sunday. Take Monday off, start at 0500 Tuesday a fresh 70...

Anyway, doesn't look like a fantastic deal, but someone with an eye on costs should be able to do alright.

    Not for me though...

Said it once said it a thousand times , there is always somebody willing to put you to work as long as you are willing to lose money . That wage is barely more than an OTR driver would make driving someone else's equipment , they would get the pleasure / I mean have the pain of all the accounting and tags, ins ,tires and such, pretty sure you could do quite a bit better than 1.01 / mile ?
Friends don't let Friends run cheap freight. Lol
