I'm planing to lease a truck or maybe buy one.
What's the different between high HP and low Ratio ...AND OR ... low HP and high Ratio?
What's the HP and Ratio for better fuel MPG?
in flat road or on mountain or any kind of weather roads?
And which one is better in Volvo trucks ... Cummins Engine OR Volvo ?

What's a different or better between
    Cummins engine and CAT engine?

And please any one has any info about this stuff and any info that help just tell us.

I'm sorry if i posted in wrong forum or am right. but i guess the O/O have more info maybe.

    Thank you

if your going to lease on with a company make sure you have that option to walk away from the lease in case if they give you a Truck with problems if you decide you don't want to lease anymore

Well your question is almost everyones favorite question!!!
So...from my experience all i can say that all depends on you!!!
If you just wanna dedicated run for example from Chicago.IL to Edmonton.AB Canada its all flat road and may be couple up and downs. Best truck would be any Volvo with D12 or any Freightliner with Detroit.
Also it depends how fast you going to drive!

Let say you have a truck with less HP and you runinng mostly on mountains what happens? You will be burning more than anyone!!!

Volvo D12 are not good for mountains at all!!!

I would run only in USA and it's OTR. so it's better to high HP. what about the ratio if you have any info.
So it's better to get a cummins engine.

If you lease a truck you gonna end up with paying for everything!
My buddy was with leasing truck. So he has to pay $1000 weekly for the truck. Another $800 Cargo insurance, another $800 monthly for the trailer. Totally he has to pay $5600 monthly and he was earning $3200 afyer all headache!
Also you have to make sure you working for good company.
I was an owner operator and i was making $8000 after all easy!
But i end up with almost blown motor and i sold my truck.
So now im a just company driver and im making $4800 a month but free of all kinda troubles and headaches!!!

    Lucar Thanks this.

Stay away of Volvo no matter what engine...!!! Volvos are too sensative
If you going to be an owner operator in US OTR best truck would be 1999-2004 FREIGHTLINER CENTURY NOT COLUMBIA because most columbias comes with mersedess benz parts!!!

If you are not going to California?!! Stay away of DEF equipped trucks!

Freightliner Century D60 with 3.55 ratio was best for me!

Now im driving 2007 Volvo D12 3.55 ratio its sucks!!!
I came from Elk Grove Village. IL to Laredo.Tx it was 1400 miles i allready burned $1300 - 300 gallon fuel.
My load was only 24000 lb.
