89% of $800.00 a day....I would do it for as long as it lasts! When the work is done...go get your own truck back out on the road again.
is it worth it?

Doesn't sound worth it, to me anyway. There's a lot of stuff you haven't covered yet, OP. Fuel cost on your pickup is not the only expense. Add them all in, see what changes. You have work and a place to sleep, what about food and beverage resources, clothing, hygiene, insurance, all of it. Who's paying the tax man, and how much is that going to be? Do it yourself, or pay a service? How much would that be? $710/week sounds good, but for me there's too much subtracting in the formula. My $.02.

710/week sounds good,-----
That sounds horrible.
IT's offered at $800 a DAY -
Add ALL the expenses from this endeavor vs the timeframe you'd expect it to last: if the net on this is greater than what you'd net in the same timeframe with your own equipment, and you wouldn't mind staying out all week then by all means do it to it.

Skip hotel room and sleep in the truck...... Get loads to/from so no commute ......
And ..... Local % for a driver is like 30%. -
You're not going to lose any customers being gone for a few weeks. It also sounds like you're running it through bill. Is 3k in net revenue without wear and tear on your truck and trailer worth it? Only you know the answer to that. I'd probably do it.

And that's when you give them the old in out in out

Forty I don't have consistent customers who will load my truck over and over. People that know me and use me for last resort but never consistent. Dry van is the pits you know that. To make good money and run profitably you basically have to gouge every time you book so they seldom come back for more. Thing is I don't see it as gouging cause I'm not getting rich. Just how it is. I also tire of the last minute late stuff. All day it pays nothing then all of a sudden it's hot and has to go all night. So really I can jump all over this and "usual customers" lol will never miss me.
barnmonkey Thanks this.
