Yeah, I heard the same thing. Not sure how legal that is. They need to set a precedent before that BS will fly.

Hurst, have you done the fuel temp wire mod? Costs less than 5$ and its good for some cheap hp and a little fuel mileage gain. I have an 06 acert c15 with egr and i average over 7mpg. I drive 60mph or less when time permits and shift as early as possible. I have xda energy drives, air tabs, and a few other little mods too.
ps im just south of you in bradenton, i have 4 extra resistors(5 come in a pack),, come down i will show you what to doHurst Thanks this. -
That's why nobody touches my truck but me. I talked to a cat dealer on the phone several years ago about using their dyno to see what I was putting out then and was told if I'm over factory settings they will turn it down and my reply was you will never see a piece of my equipment in your yard. Now they couldn't do anything to it cause my ECM is below factory settings. The mods are internal. After all it's my equipment. My hard work paid for it and I'll be ###### if I let anyone tell me how to set it up.Cetane+ Thanks this. -
Hurst. Do you have a twin turbo motor? Reason I ask is there where some rare 03's c15 (or maybe they where 6nz) singles that sneaked in a few trucks, unlikely by 2005 but still curious.

Agree with others. Don't waste your money on this boost wire but definitely give fuel temp wire a try.

I think all single turbo 6NZ were phased out by 03. I havent seen any for sale beyond 03.
They have a single turbo conversion kit for ACERT motors. If one or both of my turbos bites it, I may consider swapping just to make things a little easier in there.
I have driven 3406 and now both versions of the ACERT,.. the Pre DPF (04 - 05) and DPF equipped (06 - 10?). I really liked the throttle response from the older Cat motors. The 06+ DPF equipped trucks are the smoothest. A little sluggish with throttle response, but when running right the 475 - 550hp models will rape the hills loaded or not. How ever,.. that DPF system was a nightmare for me. Both a KW T660 and Pete 386 had issues.
Now tell me CAT's logic. I was driving a T660 that sucked a valve down in the motor. Shaking and making noises that scared away the wild life, the owner told me to limp it to a Kenworth shop 30 miles away. This genius computer thats supposed to self protect, allowed me to virtually destroy cylinder #'s 1 and 2 plus the head. Yet, in another situation, after 50 miles driving underpowered in limp mode because it wont regen and manual regen not working, this thing will shut the motor off on me at 50 mph. I mean OFF! Where is the logic?
I had all but written the newer ACERT motors off until I got into this 05. Smoother then a 6NZ, you can lug it down to 1000 RPM like the newer ACERTS, has no problem cruising along at 1300 - 1400 RPM. Matter of fact my sweet spot is 1400 RPM for fuel economy. And with out the need for regen, I can idle all I want with out waking to a red light for a manual regen, and surprisingly, this motor has been absolutely trouble free for the last 147k that I have put on it. My only problems with the truck were electrical and dealt with wiring and an ECM issue. 1 injector threw a code after the ECM was replaced,.. and I have my doubts as to it actually having failed. I replaced the other 5 because in the past with older trucks, when 1 injector goes and you replace it with a new one, the others will give you hissey fits.
So I am a fan of the BXS ACERT motors. 1.2 million miles and still going strong.

I just got home, dropping my trailer off for some maintenance and repairs in Ocala tomorrow. PM me if you'll be around, I'll be home for about 10 - 15 days. Need a break from the road, but always interested in tweaking my truck if it will help my NET dividends.

Never really cared enough about trucks other then I knew what I liked to drive.
Now as an O/O I am trying to soak in as much info in as short a time as I can. The more I know, the less someone can pull the wool over my eyes, so to speak.
Thanks for the info!
