you can do better going to a truck insurance company,,I had a friend who insured thru OOIDA,,he ended up with the same insurance carrier as me but was paying 10% more thru OOIDA.

Look up Northland Ins and Daily Underwrites, daily will let you make payments with no interest and they have very good rates.. I used a company in Maryland for insurance for years till I moved west,,called Elliott Wilson Ins part of Avon Dixon Company,,very good company ask for Erica,,you will be happy and get very good rates,,

First thing you need to do is move. NJ has some of the highest rates in the country.

OOIDA is not rated and while many accept it I am seeing a lot more mentioning a certain rating but ignoring the OOIDA lack of rating. But that can change with the potential changing insurance minimums.

If it hasn't changed Ooida is a risk retention group which differs in some ways from conventional liability insurance, hence why it has no rating. Landstar was the only people I had that wouldn't accept it. Might have had more to do with the fact Ooida was suing them at the time than the lack of a rating. Other guy is right it ain't cheap either. I would shop for better deal plus a conventional insurance policy so somebody doesn't throw that no rating in your face at the worst possible time.

I called them twice while shopping for insurance. I am a member. Both time was told I would get a return call. Never did so I moved on. If I can't get them on the hook when I am trying to buy something from them I would definitely be worried about getting something out of them if I needed too..
