Thought I would check in with you guys as I am about to purchase another set of drives. Searched around on the forum but just wanted some recent opinions. I am looking at the Double Coin RLB400 and the Yokohama 577. They are pretty much in the same ballpark pricewise. The M726el was my first choice as I have had good experiences with them in the past but they have gotten ridiculously overpriced so I have ruled them out. I have heard some good things about the Double Coins, not much input on the 577s though. Both are 30/32 tread depth. Rolling resistance is not a big concern here as I am in the northeast and my safety is worth a bit more to me than a few bucks at the end of the year. Pretty much seems like a toss up but thought I would get some opinions.

I would stay away from Chinese made tires, the Yoko's would be a better choice, but the best would of course be Bridgestone M726EL's.

I ran the Double Coins on my drives...wear like iron, good traction, really nothing bad to say about them. Virgin tires for close to recap prices, also.

talk on the radio is that chinese is the way to go. quality has improved immensely while the price is still cheap.

they also have to meet the same government standards as the michelins, and bridgestones.

That might be so, but no one will give you a penny for Chinese Casings once they wear out, so you may pay more for a Name Brand Tire but you will get something in return when it's time to buy new tires. I would not be willing to risk installing Chinese Made tires on my truck even if they were Brand New and Free.

I went with Double Coin on my drives and just had them replaced. Had good luck with them. I think around 280,000 miles on them. Paid $210 each at Terry's Tire Town in Girard, OH for my new ones.

Keep in mind people. Most all major brand tires are made in China then shipped here.

The 11R22.5 Double coins online right now are around $300 each plus $200 shipping for 8. The cheapest I found them at the dealer for cash and carry was $360. The main thing I dont care about with the 577 is that groove around the sidewall below the tread.

That's why you need to drive to Girard, OH to Terry's Tire Town. Just bought mine for $210 each. 24.5 low pro for me
