congrats. I would say know what your payments are going to be every week, your break even point. Take good paying freight and not the first load that comes across the qualcomm. I would avoid certain areas that there's not much freight coming out. Network with successful lease operators and do what they do. And stay away from negative nancys. Stay safe out there and good luck on your journey.

Looks like you posted this under the wrong thread... Leasing a truck from prime isn't an O/O.... You might have more success getting an answer to your question under the Leasing thread's...

That's kind of my point, ask under the lease purchase thread versus an O/O thread, might get more valuable info...

Anyhow good luck, hope it works out...

    Which division?

Brand new '15 cascadias are running on each division:

    $945.00 on reefer
    $869.00 on flatbed (mid roof)
    between $810-890 for tanker trucks.

Prices depend per week on the brand, age and style of truck (IE full condo or midroof.)
Get a good dispatcher and don't forget the squeaky wheel gets the oil, and short runs ain't making my truck payments. Fuel is pricey and that's your bill to foot. Very important you don't screw your runs up, make yourself a reliable name. Won't know until you jump in.

Prepare for a good bit of lease op bash talk to come your way, since you posted this in the O/O section.

Hit up Ironpony for more info.

Oh and in so far as picking the truck I might give the Paccar products a wide berth.
Just ditched my PB last week due to all the issues I was having with my MX13. Between the dash lighting up like a christmas tree every morning, the fuel tank gauge crashing every few hours, the dash touch screen flickering and it eating DEF like it was starving...Maybe I got a lemon...Maybe I didn't...

What I do know for sure is that I'm hitting 9.8 average MPG with my '15 evo running 60/62, average load weight is 35-45'ish. GPS claims average running speed is 56.
Keep my idle as low as possible, even limiting what I don't absolutely need on my APU. Gentle on the throttle as well. Entirely accomplish-able, and you can improve my numbers. Took the jump seat out and it being a mid roof; I feel like I have a lot more room now. Probably gonna pickup a second fridge and microwave to strap down there.

Big complaint is the lack of space between my headache rack and skate. Catwalk is pretty difficult to access and stand on. Storing tarps is pretty interesting.

Overall your options are pretty well limited on the truck selection.

FL (evos) are a good money maker, the truck payment is reasonable and the maintenance can be done almost anywhere. Keep the truck out of Prime shops wherever and however possible. Fuel is the name of this game, and fuel conservation is the evo's forte.

PB is a meh truck. The driveline is an exact match of the KW (we will get to that later) but the interior is absolute junk. Please refer to my problems with the dash above then bear in mind that the sleeper is basically a cot, with two cabinets in front of it. All the plastic is blown plastic, it feels cheap and flimsy. I had my PB for all of a month and accidentally broke a hinge on the driver side cabinent. Very frustrating.

KW shares that paccar driveline, but the interior is pretty nice in comparison.

You will likely only see KW's on the reefer side, especially since Prime isn't ordering anymore. PB looks here to stay, I saw a few new deliveries in detailing the other day.
