I was trying to search up and down the internet for the laws on this, I want to put a ground effects lighting on my tractor, you know, the fancy lights that light up the undercarriage of the truck that reflects off all the chrome. Well at one point i had some cheap ikea set of Leds, but you can buy a fancy color changing set on ebay for nothing.

My question is, are these legal if you run a solid color, IE RED, when your rolling, when im stopped ill hit the color changing and do what I want, but i know we all follow amber front red rear, but what about straight down?

    Any ideas?

Considering people can buy different color lights for the side turn signals, marker lights, etc... I would not think it's illegal, BUT... I would not go overboard, and I would also suggest a kill switch install. Some of those LED lights can be quite blinding even if not aimed directly in your face.

Red light is the only color of light that will have no adverse effects on ones night vision as such it would be a good color to pick if your going for an solid.

It's illegal in the state of Illinois to have underglow in a 4wheeler. I looked it up when I was a teenager and had them in my car. Not sure about semi. But I seen motorcycle with 50 leds all around. I bet he can use the " I want people to see me" excuse.

It's illegal in Arkansas to have them on while the vehicle is in motion. If you are parked somewhere they are fine. Also colored interior lights that are the color emergency vehicles use are prohibited here too. Don't know how a tractor can be confused as an emergency vehicle, but if you have switched out the standard interior bulbs for colored ones, and like to run with them on at night be sure they aren't red or blue when coming through Arkansas.

I run blue lights in the screens of my breathers I have never been questioned about them. I'm not arguing the fact they are illegal but merely saying I have never been hassled about them. They been there over 10 years

I ran green lights inside my air cleaners so they glowed. Got pulled around back in Tennessee and they made me cut the wires off. No ticket.
